Presentation: Skin Cancer--Early Detection
Join us for an educational program as Menno Haven hosts Joyce Levin, RN, MSN. from the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute. The free community-based education is offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Cancer Education Network as a new cancer control initiative in the commonwealth designed to educate the public about all types of skin cancer. In 2006 skin cancer was one of the four leading invasive cancers diagnosed in Pennsylvania, the other three being colorectal, prostate, and ovarian cancers. The ultimate goal of the Cancer Education Network is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer through education and early detection. Menno Haven is committed to sharing our resources and offering programs like this to the local church community as well as our residents and employees.
