Sustainability and Keeping Your Community Green
At Cura Hospitality, our mission is to continually expand our role as a socially responsible company while providing exceptional hospitality experiences to all of our guests. Cura's Positions of Sustainability was developed in order to establish corporate and local responsibility standards, including a continual focus on environmental issues.
Senior living is no exception to the continuous challenge of protecting and greening our environment. In fact, seniors are as active as ever concerning these issues. Cura is committed to improving sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives for the residents we serve, whether it's serving fresh food from local farms, making the switch from styrofoam to corn-based drinking cups, purchasing napkins recycled from paper, using reusable dishware and china, or composting pre-consumer food waste on-site.
Sustainable Highlights
Farm Source
Cura purchases fresh food locally through FarmSource, a Cura program which partners with over 200 farms and local producers of food. Through its membership with the Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture, Cura easily identifies orchards, farms, and purveyors within a 100-mile radius of the community, which allows residents to enjoy fresh, high-quality "back-yard" foods while supporting local agriculture by more than 20%.
